Re: Your Sept. 30, 1998 response to my FOIA request

Dear Ms. Anderson,October 5, 1998

Thank you for your response of Sept. 30, 1998. I have received the document you enclosed with that letter. However, I must inform you that the document (a Purchase Order dated August 4, 1993) does not fit the parameters of my FOIA request.
The aforementioned Purchase Order contains information about a 19" monitor that was acquired for use with a Graduate Research Workstation. Evidence of this is found in two places. First, the Purchase Order itself has, in the upper left-hand corner, the name "….RAPHY - RESEARCH". Also, a document (a letter written by me on May 25, 1995, "To whom it may concern") held by George M. Shur confirms that this monitor was used for that purpose alone.
In an effort to help you understand the scope of my FOIA request, I am attaching a copy of the referring document I used to set the parameters of that request. Here, again, is the text of my FOIA request for your consideration:
"I am requesting copies of all records pertaining to the Geography department’s efforts to comply with John E. La Tourette’s (President of Northern Illinois University) memorandum of August 6, 1991 entitled, "Computer Access for Persons with Disabilities" sent to John Tuecke and Cc’d to you personally. Such records should include, but are not limited to, purchase orders for adaptive equipment, software, etc. to meet the needs of the disabled, work orders to install and maintain such equipment, software, etc., and a list of all such adaptive technology purchased, installed and maintained on the reserved adapted computer for each new and refurbished laboratory and classroom with computer technology under the direct and/or partial jurisdiction of the Geography department and/or Academic Computing Services in Davis Hall on the NIU main campus. If other offices have such jurisdiction, please include such pertinent information as stated above related to those offices. These requested records should be inclusive of the dates August 6, 1991 to the present. If more clarification is necessary, please do not hesitate to ask for it."
Thank you again for your time and efforts to satisfy this request. Take care, and best wishes.

Sincerely;

James G. Wilson
