Nancy,
No, the company will not help much. ImmunoRegulin has not been approved
by the FDA for this use. It is used "off label" as thousands of drugs are.
To get it approved, they would have to spend years and millions of
dollars, and they are not willing to do that. I guess all you can do is
say you are on this list, with people who have been fighting felv for years
now and this is what we do. We all understand it is not a cure. We use it
as a tool to help our cats fight off the disease as best they can. None of
us have encountered any harm being done, that I know of and this treatment
is sort of like the situation people find themselves in when they wonder if
they should do CPR on someone. The alternative to doing CPR is nothing and
nothing will definately lead to death. We are dealing with a fatal disease
here. If we do things, we can slow it down, sometimes for years. If we do
nothing, the cat can sometimes live quite well for years. But ultimately,
the disease WILL kill them, sooner or later. We just prefer it to be as
much later as we can make it. If you tell your vet you know it's not a
cure, you understand the risk and are willing to take it, relieving them of
responsiblity, she should let you do what you want. Send her to our page
to read it and she can see we are not a bunch of kooks, but people
genuinely trying to help our cats and others live longer and better lives.
Sometimes what we do helps, sometimes it doesn't. All we can do is the
best we can do. barb
