Marcia, my vet's opinion is that the chance of getting the virus, regardless
of the vaccine (which is not 100%) is about 25%. He thought that if I exposed
my five cats to the one with Felv, probably, over time, one of them would get
the virus. So, I keep Clown at my parents' house and care for him there. I
decided that I just couldn't live with myself if one of my healthy cats caught
it because of my action. If I had NOT been able to find a home for Clown,
however, maybe I would have taken the chance. It's a tough call and it's not
easy to find foster homes.
