Marcia, I've had the kittens since June, but they have been mixing with
Gretchen since Aug. They were my foster kittens and I was only supposed to have
them for about 4-5 weeks. But then they tested positive for felv twice.
Unfortunately the shelter where I volunteer couldn't take them back and place
them. They said they would have to be put down. Would you believe these were
the first kittens at the shelter to come up positive since they have been
testing! Just my Luck! (But lucky for the kits cuz I already loved them!) So I
decided to keep them. Another volunteer and tried to place them in a sanctuary
in San Diego, but toooo expensive. Anyway, I hadn't had kittens for 17 years
and I'm really enjoying them! Their names are Tessa and Sissy! We call
Gretchen, 'Auntie Gretchen' now. She's even grooming them!!!! See ya, Jill and

Hi....I have heard of Dr Pitcairns book, Maybe i will hit the bookstore
and [buy] it. Its funny because i work for a Vet as an assistant but I
use another vet for my animals that i have trusted for many years .
The two have different opionions on Felv. The vet that cares for my
cats never mentioned putting Pumpkin to sleep. They wanted me
to keep her and we would protect my other cats as much as possible.
The one I work for doesnt use Immunoregulin and told me that it would
be best if I found her a home or put her down. So i guess Im the same
as you and will follow my instincts on just doing the best i can for
Pumpkin and my other kitties:) Yes, having a kitten around makes
everyone romp again! How long has it been since you mixed Gretchen
with the 2 positive kittens? Just curiouse. Luck to you also:)
