While IV is always better, if your cat gets that upset, SQ is acceptable.
I have been giving mine a SQ about once a month for quite some time. I
think your vet is just being conservative because she doesn't really
understand the drug she is giving. I just stop by and ask my vet to order
some for me from time to time and he does, but when I want it given IV, I
bring it with me and he gives it. Mostly because I have no one here to
help me give it IV. Being an RN, I could do it, but not alone, I wouldn't
risk it. barb
